We’re excited to share Retro Keys, a new keyboard app built around four classic instruments in one package: RHDS, WURL, CP electric, and piano. It’s made for iPhone, iPad, and AUv3, with the goal of bringing warm, expressive vintage keys into a fast, modern workflow.
Retro Keys is retro in more ways than one. A lot of these sounds were recorded over 10 years ago in Denver. And when you record 50-year-old instruments to analog tape, you get magic… and a lot of noise. Thanks to modern noise reduction, these samples got a second life. They still have that instant warm, vibey character, with just a little of the original noise left in. And yes, you can add more grit to taste.
This app can go clean and polished or dusty and worn-in. That was the whole point. Not sterile. Not generic. Just soulful keys that feel good the second you play them.
Retro Keys is available now for iPhone, iPad, and AUv3. No ads. No subscriptions. No nonsense. Just a great keyboard app with some history baked in.
