After two years of hard work, the team at Fingerlab is thrilled to announce the release of their brand-new drum machine app—DM10. Built from the ground up with a fresh audio engine powered by the AudioKit open-source framework, DM10 is the next step forward from their beloved DM1.
The goal? To deliver a more powerful and versatile experience for musicians and producers alike. And while DM1 fans will feel right at home, DM10 introduces a range of new features that push the app to the next level.
“We are a very small team of 2 people and without AudioKit we would never have been able to make DM10, so thanks to AudioKit again for all the amazing work”
– Aurélien Potier, Fingerlab Manager
“We’ve been working on DM10 for the last two years, and we’re very happy to release it at last,” said Aurélien Potier, Fingerlab Manager. “It took us a lot of time because we rebuilt the app entirely from scratch with a new audio engine built on the AudioKit frameworks.”
What’s New in DM10?
Initially, the team set out to add AudioUnit support to DM1, but they quickly realized they could go much further. Alongside AudioUnit support, DM10 now includes a Bass & Lead Synth Steps Sequencer, offering new creative possibilities for beatmakers and electronic music producers.
But the journey isn’t over yet! Fingerlab is already planning exciting new features for future updates:
- Mac fullscreen support
- AudioUnit MIDI Out support
- Step/Drumkit/FX randomization
- Steps probability and mutation
- …and much more!
“The work on DM10 still continues,” Aurélien shared. “We have a lot of exciting new features we want to add!”
