AudioKit Synth One J6 by isn’t your typical synth app. It’s a legit, pro-quality synthesizer built as a labor of love. You might already know the original Synth One, with millions of downloads, it’s already a staple in schools and studios from LA to London to Tokyo.

But this time around, volunteers spent nearly three years perfecting every single detail. Why? Because musicians actually care how stuff sounds.

Schools, community programs, and even plenty of talented musicians don’t have spare cash lying around.

Synth One J6 isn’t “freemium” or loaded with annoying in-app purchases. You download it. You play it. You create. End of story.

Ethical AI Machine Learning

The oscillators are trained by recording hours of vintage synths, note by note. The data gathered by analyzing those synths is used to power the the oscillators in the app, creating analog-like variations in the tuning and other attributes that make the app feel ALIVE!

Synth One J6 doesn’t try to fake analog…it recreates it. We recorded vintage Juno-106 and Jupiter-8 synth oscillators, then let some smart ethical AI algorithms study every nuance. The result? Genuine analog warmth, random imperfections, and sounds that actually breathe. Not imitation, it’s Innovation!

We stuck with the basics: Sine, Saw, Square, and Triangle waves. Educators asked for simplicity, but simple doesn’t have to be boring. Synth One J6 proves that pretty clearly.

BUT, HOW DOES IT SOUND?

Okay, but does “free” mean “sounds cheap”? Get this. We actually blind tested this thing against a popular $200 desktop VST plugin. The results? In tests with over 100 musicians, J6 beat that expensive plugin by 80% when they were asked which sounded more “analog.” Same group, testing J6 against real hardware? J6 was picked as the real hardware just as often as those expensive current plugins. Those other expensive plugins? Only 25% of musicians thought they were hardware. Synth One J6 won by a landslide. So yeah, it sounds pretty dang good.
